Management Systems have become the most used and reliable benchmark in business practices to meet the expectations of different interest groups, provide trust and improve customer acceptance.

However, the implementation of various systems independently has led organizations to lose their efficiency in systems management, a situation that has prompted the development of system integration methodological proposals.

This research aims to carry out a review of the aspects that have marked the evolution of the integration of management systems, deepening the understanding of the base dimensions of integration methodologies and from these, presents a comparative analysis of the main found methodologies. The research is qualitative, using the literature review method. In the information search stage, the main state-of-the-art articles were identified where the evolution and characteristics of the management systems integration process are described. The second stage consisted of an in-depth review, interpretation, and analysis of the main dimensions and integration methodologies identified. The results of the investigation allowed to describe the integration process based on its benefits, motivators and difficulties; identify four conceptual dimensions of the integration process: strategic, methodological, level of integration and integration of internal audits and compare the main integration references: PAS 99, UNE 66177 and Handbook, ISO 9001, IUMS.Keywords: Integrated management system. Management systems, IUMSS, ISO, Une 66177, Pas 99, integration models; basics of integrated management systems.
