The covid-19 pandemic negatively affected physical activity levels, increasing sedentary behavior and limiting access to exercise, which contributed to a rise in low back pain cases. This study examined the relationship between body measurements and spinal muscle strength in physically active young adults in the post-pandemic context. Forty-seven participants (age: 23.5 ± 4.9 years) were assessed for height, body mass, body mass index (BMI), abdominal circumference (CircABD), and isometric strength. Significant correlations were found between muscle strength and age (rho = 0.354; p = 0.015), BMI (rho = 0.347; p = 0.017), and CircABD (rho = 0.333; p = 0.022). Excess abdominal fat and reduced muscle strength were factors associated with an increased risk of low back pain. The results highlight the relevance of objective assessments of body composition and muscle strength for the screening and prevention of low back pain. These findings support the development of individualized strategies to promote musculoskeletal health in young adults.
