¿Qué es eso de “filosofía americana”? El Grupo de Bogotá
What is “American Philosophy”? Bogotá Group
Abstract (en)
The next article examines the problems of a supposed “American philosophy”. This project was defended by four generations of intellectuals during the 20th century, but each in its own way. First: as a reflection of our American being. Second: as a normalization of philosophical activity in Latin America; Third: as a reinterpretation of our History reconsidering the conquered/oppressed perspectives; Fourth: as an actual liberation from widespread and institutionalized poverty. After, I try to define the characteristics of the “Group of Bogotá” whose members understood the concept of liberation based on the metaphysics of Xavier Zubiri, as an educational process of enablement and training.
Keywords: American Philosophy, Generations of Founders, Standardization, Interpretation of History, Liberation, Bogotá Group: Enablement, Training, Education, Xavier Zubiri.
