Abstract (en)

This article presents the results of a research that seeks to determine variables and conditions that affect university students on their propensity to commit academic plagiarism. The study was based on the results obtained by an anonymous survey and several regression models were developed to identify the variables associated with the propensity for plagiarism. As conclusions of the models, it is highlighted that there is less disposition to academic plagiarism if the student is a woman, although it was identified, through goodness-of-fit tests, that in most types of academic plagiarism that occur in the classroom, the student’s gender is irrespective of the type of cheating - and that an inverse relationship is established between the fear of failure and the punishment if caught as determinants of plagiarism, as well as other conclusions and proposals in subsequent studies.

Abstract (es)
