Avatares del sujeto cartesiano
Avatar of the Cartesian subject
Abstract (en)
The Cartesian subject is constituted in the subordination of all the faculties to the intelligence; it has to impose its conditions at all times and in all situations, because what is at stake is to ensure the mastery of things, something that cannot be achieved without interposing to desire, to that desire, an adequate understanding. And Descartes knows very well that there is no understanding that is not of objects. Human beings are endowed with these faculties, which habitually clash and never cease to conflict. In replacing confusion (and superstition) for method, Descartes takes to its extreme the subjection of the other faculties by the understanding, an injustice that will revolt many. This article addresses this problem.
