Creer que esto es una mano: el conocimiento como aceptación proposicional en la ciencia social
Abstract (en)
Una concepción algebraica de la realidad social es una idea que escandalizaría a muchos de mis colegas. ¿Qué tiene que ver el álgebra con una ideología política? ¿Qué dice una fórmula de la historia, disciplina multicausal y reacia a las reducciones lineales? ¿Qué podría decir, siquiera, de la antropología y su proceder? Nótese que ni siquiera me molesto en incluir a la filosofía. Defender una visión formal del quehacer filosófico es una misión aún más ingrata. La tarea en la que se embarca el profesor Fonseca Martínez en su libro Belief and Sociey: Making Ranking Theory Useful for the Social World es, en ese preciso sentido, realmente una missio; funge como enviado de una tradición en gran medida foránea para la ciencia social – y mejor sería decir ciencias sociales – en América Latina.
