Educación y democracia, dos hitos históricos
Abstract (en)
En este texto, el autor describe la forma como el pueblo griego tomó conciencia de que la existencia humana no era un destino regido por los dioses o por las leyes de la naturaleza, sino un proyecto cuyo sentido podía ser definido por la razón, y ser asumido autónoma y democráticamente por los ciudadanos. Este giro trajo consigo las siguientes consecuencias: la proclamación déla libertad y del pensar crítico como fundamentos de la vida individual y colectiva; la secularización de la existencia humana; la definición de la democracia como forma de estructurar el proyecto autónomo y crítico de la polis; la definición y realización de la educación en función de la democracia.
