¿Para qué hacemos ciencia?
Abstract (en)
La actividad científico-tecnológica en Colombia y en los países de la región sigue siendo un tema pendiente por fortalecer. Mientras que a nivel mundial, según las estadísticas del Banco Mundial[1], el promedio de inversión en Investigación y Desarrollo (I+D) alcanza el 2,4% del PIB, en América Latina solo Brasil supera el 1%, mientras que los demás países rondan un escaso 0,3%.
El interés nacional por la I+D o por la Ciencia, Tecnología e Innovación (CTeI) en un sentido amplio ha sido objeto de múltiples enfoques, condicionados por la línea política de los gobiernos de turno. Esto refuerza la vigencia del concepto de “ciencia politizada” planteado por Varzavsky, incluso cuando la ciencia aspira a ser libre e independiente.
