Reconfiguration of Marketing and Sales Variables in Post-Covid-19 Economic Recovery: An Empirical Analysis of MSMEs in Bosa, Bogotá (2024)
Abstract (en)
The COVID-19 pandemic generated a structural disruption in the commercial dynamics of urban MSMEs, exposing strategic vulnerabilities and accelerating digital transformation processes. This study aimed to analyze the reconfiguration of marketing and sales variables in small firms located in Bosa (Bogotá, Colombia) during and after the health crisis. A mixed-methods approach was adopted, combining Likert-scale surveys and in-depth interviews conducted with a sample of thirteen companies. The analysis focused on three dimensions: marketing strategy, sales force, and distribution channels. Findings indicate that prior digital maturity was a critical determinant of organizational resilience. Firms with integrated digital marketing plans and diversified logistics systems demonstrated stronger adaptive capacity and recovery performance in 2024, whereas those dependent on traditional channels experienced severe disruptions. The study concludes that post-pandemic recovery is not solely explained by economic reopening but by a structural reconfiguration toward digitalized and multichannel commercial models, which constitutes a necessary condition for sustainable competitiveness under uncertain environments.
