Abstract (en)

Phubbing is the addiction to the smartphone, this behavior generates the loss of social skills and personal interaction (Haigh, 2015), being one of the most frequent in recent years, although in the Colombian context it has been little explored and where it is currently not counted With a validated instrument for its measurement, due to this, the design of the phubbing scale that consists of 25 5-point Likert-type items was proposed, with the participation of 443 people, 282 women (63.7%) and 161 men (36.3%), aged between 17 to 89 years (X = 24.36), as results a general Cronbach's alpha of 0.93 was found, in addition McDonald's Omega yielded a value of 0.95, for these analyzes it was taken into account the Polychoric type matrix, on the other hand, in the goodness of fit indices it was found: RMSA = 0.09; SRMR = 0.09; CFI = 0.88 and TLI = 0.86, concluding the adequate reliability for the use of the instrument, guaranteeing its replicability.
