Two Colombian reflections based on Norbert Elias
Abstract (en)
As part of the Libellus collection, the EAFIT University Press recently published the book Dos reflexiones colombianas a partir de Norbert Elias (Two Colombian Reflections Based on Norbert Elias).
The first of these reflections is by renowned Colombian-British historian Malcolm Deas (1941-2023) and the second is by Jorge Giraldo Ramírez, who, in addition to being professor emeritus and doctor of philosophy, is currently dean of the School of Humanities at EAFIT University.
It should be noted that this is a posthumous work, as Malcolm Deas passed away while the book was in the editing process; furthermore, a version of the text had already been published in 2022 in the magazine Letras Libres.

Como parte de la colección Libellus, la editorial de la universidad EAFIT publicó recientemente el libro Dos reflexiones colombianas a partir de Norbert Elias.
La primera de estas reflexiones es del reconocido historiador colombo-británico Malcolm Deas (1941-2023) y la segunda es de Jorge Giraldo Ramírez, quien, además de ser profesor emérito y doctor en filosofía, es actualmente el decano de la Escuela de Humanidades de la Universidad EAFIT.
Cabe aclarar que es un trabajo póstumo, ya que Malcolm Deas falleció mientras el libro se encontraba en proceso de edición; además, una versión del texto ya se había publicado en 2022 en la revista Letras Libres.
