Bachofen
Matriarchy As an Important Aspect in Evolutionism. A look from the anthropological postulates of J.J. Bachofen
Abstract (en)
We begin this essay with a first section that gives us light on how evolution has been understood since anthropology. The theoretical bases, to develop this first section are: Herbert Spencer, Lewis Henry Morgan and Edwar Burnett Taylor, all nineteenth-century scholars, who tried from their epistemological plots, to understand how the evolutionary development of humanity was. In a second section we directly address the concept of matriarchy from the postulates of J.J. Bachofen, and we try to specify how this concept is important to understand our evolution as a human species and as a society. We conclude with some closing words, where we conclude with some ideas that point out the issue at hand: evolutionism and matriarchy.
