Resurgence of an Educational Institution in Tunja: A Case Study from the Perspective of Management and Leadership
Abstract (en)
The case of an educational institution in Tunja constitutes a learning opportunity for the management of educational organizations and for leadership in the school education sector. Thus, the purpose of the research is to identify the leadership and management factors that contribute to its success and those that favor its development and growth. As a result, this study has important practical implications for directors who manage this type of institutions. In turn, the recognition and positioning of the current institution at the local, departmental and national levels are achievements reached with the implementation of a successful administration. From the results of the research, it can be affirmed that the favorable aspect of this case is partly due to the administrative experience of the new organization and perhaps what most affected the durability of the previous institution was the way in which the services were assumed. The results are discussed in light of the academic concepts that support them. Among the results, the necessary and relevant characteristics that an educational leader must possess in academic, social, economic, cultural and organisational aspects were found, and the urgent need to turn educational institutions into intelligent organisations, competitive in their academic offer and in their value proposals, with the aim of achieving comprehensive excellence, which responds to what an educational organisation should offer to society.
